Weekly Markets
On every Tuesday in the city center from 8 am to 1 pm and on every Sunday on the old port from 8 am to 2 pm.

 

January

From December 17th, 2016 to February 2nd, 2017
Provencal Crib
Each year, the crib is elaborated with all the traditional characters of Provence. And as always, the decoration comes as a surprise, to be discovered on the opening day of this wonderful achievement. Note that the crib is free to visit.

From December 22th, 2016 to February 2nd, 2017

La Ciotat’s parish crib can be visited every day during Christmas break, except during religious services.

The arrival of the Magi
The artistic folk band Escolo de la Ribo will perform. the march of the Magi followed by a traditional show

Magnificent parade about a new theme each year.

From March 25th to April 2nd, 2017
Les Nauticales Boat Show
4th boat show in France and 1st boatshow in Spring in the Mediterranean area. It represents the opening of the nautical season. Thus, more than 200 exhibitions are spread over 4 hectares of exhibition to present their products and innovations both on the ground and on the sea.

From May 6th to September 30th, 2017
La Place aux peintres ( the painters square)
Every Saturday from May to September, about twenty amateur painters exhibit their talent!

On May 8th, 2017
Flower and regional products market
Every year in Spring, about fifty exhibiters (horticulturists, nurserymen, landscape designers, florists) show the visitors their plants, shrubs and cut flowers.

June

Fête des Sports et du Nautisme
This is the chance to discover various water activities : diving, sailing, kite-surfing, and so on. Golfe d’Amour Bay is crowded by all the sea lovers for a whole weekend that symbolizes the return of Spring!

June 21st, 2017
Fête de la Musique (Music Day)
Free concerts in every part of the city (rock, blues, jazz, electronic and so on)
City centre – Beach area – Old Port

July

From July 7th to September 2nd, 2017
Night market
Every evening in Summer, about one hundred regional exhibitors and craft-workers show their products on the old port. This is the chance to wander, or bring souvenirs back home or enjoy a drink or an ice cream on the old port.

From July 12th to July 23th, 2017
« Musique en Vacances » Festival 
This two week-long festival welcomes a diverse line-up, from jazz and classical music to gospel and folkloric music.

Fireworks
National Day’s fireworks on the 13th July, followed by many attractions.

Votive Festival
Every year in August, many popular celebrations take place in the rhythm of the Provencal traditions : blessing of the boats, bals, shows, song contests…

Fireworks
This fireworks commemorates the liberation of La Ciotat. Concerts and other music shows are organized.

September

From September 9th to September 10h, 2017
Fossils and mineral show
About thirty exhibiters sell and trade small and big fossils, rough minerals, decoration items such as mineral shaped lamps, jewels, replicas of dinosaur bones.

Forum des associations
All the societies in the city gather on the same day to introduce themselves to the local population and the visitors.

European Days of Local Heritage
One entire weekend to discover many historical buildings and places in several different areas in the city.

October

From October 20th to October 22nd, 2017
Historical Festival “1720”
Each year, about 100.000 visitors share this beautiful adventure with the local, united all year to offer this magnificent and attractive trip back in time.
Fights on the ground and on the sea, historical reconstitutions of everyday life scenes, traditional jubilation, fire shows, big parades…
More than 1.000 dressed-up characters (noblemen, burghers, artisans, peasants, fishermen, corsairs, pirates, and beggars) go through the door of time, where the residents’ audacity and the women braveness protect the city from this terrible affliction: the plague.
Each year, many attractions are offered: shows, fights, workshops, craftwork…

November

Night of Sports
Annual event that rewards the best performances and valorizes the city’s sport societies involvement. Six awards are granted : the athlete of the year, the masculine and feminine team of the year, the sport event of the year, the society that has registered the most members and that honors the city, and the jury’s favorite.
